Why you should have a spider plant in your room

If you are a plant lover and looking for the best indoor plants that do not need much care and maintenance, the spider plant is the best option, in my opinion.

I started growing indoor plants in 2020 when we were all kept at home due to COVID-19.

The first plant I brought was a spider plant. I believe everyone should have one in their room, and in this article, I will explain why.

Perfect for Room Décor

The long, grassy leaves with white, green, or yellow stripes make it eye-catching. It fits well in any location in your home and looks especially beautiful in hanging baskets. You can place them on a study table, on the floor or a wooden stand, enhancing the beauty of your room.

Easy to Care

The spider plant does not require much attention. It thrives in low light or sunlight, whether overwatered or underwatered.

You can place your hand on the plant’s soil; if you feel too much dryness, you can water it a little. If placed indoors, keeping them in a spot with bright indirect light is suggested.

Non-Toxic

If you have pets or children in your house and are looking for a plant that doesn’t emit harmful toxins, this is it!

The spider plant doesn’t emit any harmful toxins and is completely safe for pets and children. It also has high oxygen production capabilities, creating a better environment for your living room.

Purifies Air

According to reports by NASA, the spider plant works like magic to remove harmful chemicals such as benzene and formaldehyde from your household.

Many poisonous elements can be emitted from furniture or when we exhale carbon dioxide. The spider plant can purify the air in your room and improve the environment.

Inexpensive

You can buy a spider plant at a very cheap price. Also, it is easy to propagate.

A great benefit of the spider plant is that if you need another one, you don’t have to spend money to buy one. Instead, you can quickly propagate more plants by rooting the cut plantlet in a jar, glass, or a large cup of water.

Good Quality Sleeping

Spider plants can improve indoor air quality by removing certain airborne pollutants. As it increases the oxygen level of your living room, you can breathe well and have a quality sleep.

Increases Humidity

In winter, our skin dries out due to low humidity, causing an extremely uncomfortable feeling. A spider plant can increase the humidity level in the air, making a comfortable environment.

Drawbacks

If we talk about disadvantages, the only drawback is that if you are outside for 2-3 days, your heart will cry, and you will think there is a soul in the house.

You will feel like you didn’t care about taking care of someone. Eventually, it will spin in your head.

On the plus side, it will teach you to be caring. If you are messy, it might make you a little dirty, but having plants in your house can make you feel better.

Will you add a spider plant to your room and reap the benefits?
